Hello, my name is Jen. I had the privilege of working alongside Carol Friedman, the founder of Design Resource, for over a decade. This company has always been more than a business—it’s a community, a place where creativity and care come together. When Carol passed in November 2024, we embraced the challenge of forging the future of this work alongside a mission of infusing the next chapter with her extraordinary spirit.

Carol was more than just a coworker; she was a dear friend and a source of inspiration to many. She touched lives with her caring nature and loving spirit. She had an energy and passion for life that could put people half her age to shame. Her dedication to her work was legendary. She brought joy into everything she did, whether it was perfecting a design project or exploring a new city with an old friend.

One of Carol's favorite saying was simply, "Onward." It was more than just a word to her; it was a philosophy. No matter the challenge, no matter the setback, Carol was always ready to move forward, to find solutions, to keep going. "Onward," she's say, and suddenly, the impossible seemed possible.

As we remember Carol, she'd want us all to carry this spirit forward. To find ways to bring more care, more love, and more joy into our work and relationships. To forge deeper connections with those around us. And, when life gets tough, to channel her resilience and say to ourselves, "Onward."

Carol's legacy isn't just in the beautiful designs she created or the projects she completed. It's in the lives she touched, the relationships she nurtured, and the example she set for all of us. She showed us that work can be a calling, that it's never too late to embrace joy, and that every interaction is an opportunity to show someone you care.

To Carol, our dear friend and inspiration - thank you. Your light will continue to shine in all of us. And as we move forward, carrying your memory with us, we'll remember your words and your spirit.
